It was a long wait to finally get the chance to meet Arlene and Erik. They booked their August wedding shortly before the Pandemic so meeting each other didn’t happen until Monday at their engagement session. We met at Shady Oaks Park in Minnetonka where Erik had proposed to Arlene. We went to the exact location where the engagement took place which you’ll see in the first set of photos along the waters edge. We had moments of privacy but the park was bustling with people. Things got interesting when trying to get some bridge shots while a group of teenage boys were doing back flips into the water. I tried to photograph Arlene and Erik in a way that cropped the teens out but sometimes you just have to go with the flow and roll with it. Ironically enough, one of my favorite images from the session shows the teens in the background while Arlene and Erik are walking on the bridge. Little do those boys know how thankful I am for their little cameo! Oh, and also a BIG thank you to whoever wrote, “One Love” on the bridge. What a wonderful addition to this lovely session!
