RYAN AND MARANDA: FROSTED TIFFANY

I was so excited to photograph Ryan and Maranda’s wedding when she told me she was doing a Tiffany’s theme. What was so amazing is that not only did she pull if off well but she planned the wedding in four months –WOW, hats off to you Maranda!

Ryan and Maranda were married on February 5, 2011 on one of the foggiest days I have ever seen. To many this may seem like a bummer for wedding weather, as well as, a bummer for taking photographs but that was definitely not the case. Because of the cold conditions, the trees were dusted with a light frost which created the most striking backdrop for a winter wedding. The fog lent itself to a beautiful soft box which is every photographers dream when it comes to lighting.

The day began at Crossroads Church of Woodbury. Ryan and his groomsmen kept themselves occupied and played a game of pool, while Maranda and her bridesmaids spent a little time perfecting all of the finishing touches. Ryan and Maranda had their ‘First Glance’ in front of a beautiful stone fireplace and then allowed me to photograph them outside in the foggy & frosty winter air. The deep purple and pink bouquet was the perfect punch of color to such a gorgeous white, wintery backdrop.

After the ceremony, wedding party and guests headed to the James J. Hill Library in St. Paul for the reception. Guests were surrounded by the ever so lovely signature blue that is associated with the legendary Tiffany and Co.  The card box, place cards, favors, and cake were all Tiffany inspired and done to absolute perfection.

The evening had a deeper energy and pulse than normal. Much of that was due to the St. Paul Winter Carnival which was held directly in front of the reception in Rice Park. Guests even enjoyed walking across the street and hitting some of the more popular food vendors, such as, the Mini Donut stand. Later in the evening while guests filled the dance floor, the St.Paul Vulcans surprised Ryan and Maranda with an entrance not to be believed. Let’s just say their performance was on fire. Such an exciting way to end a beautiful day!

Thanks again to Ryan and Maranda for choosing me to document their AMAZING day!
